Infrared Heat & Red Light Technology
At Pilates ERA, the studio environment has been designed to allow for an immersive experience from start to finish.
Our room is equipped with a system combining infrared heat and red light (630 nm) to create an enveloping atmosphere that supports movement, recovery and overall well-being.
Unlike traditional heating systems that simply warm the air, infrared heat acts more directly and evenly, providing a feeling of natural and comfortable warmth during practice.
This technology is often described as a gentler, more stable and more breathable heat, which accompanies the body in exertion without weighing down the environment.
A warmth inspired by the sun
Infrared heat works on a simple principle: it directly heats surfaces and the body, rather than just the air.
It's a bit like the feeling of the sun on your skin on a cool day — a comforting warmth that is felt immediately, without making the room feel stuffy.
In our studio, the panels are installed on the ceiling in order to distribute this heat evenly throughout the room.
The red light
Our studio also uses a soft red light around 630 nanometers (nm).
This wavelength is used in several recovery and wellness settings. It is part of an approach called photobiomodulation, which explores how certain wavelengths of light can support the natural activity of cells.
In the context of a movement studio, this light helps to create an atmosphere that is both calming and energizing.
A complete sensory experience
The experience can be described as:
- an enveloping warmth that facilitates movement
- Satisfactory perspiration without a feeling of heavy air
- a feeling of deep relaxation after class
- a natural glow after exercise.
During the winter months, many people particularly appreciate the energy and brightness that this environment provides.
Designed for movement
At Pilates ERA, technology is not an end in itself — it is simply a tool to enrich the experience.
Our priority remains the quality of teaching, attention to the body and the collective energy that is created in the room.
Infrared heat and red light simply allow you to create a space where movement is freer, more natural and more enjoyable.
